
Shanghai Family Kids Club will during the year support The Library Project by collecting books and money for The Library Project’s new libraries in schools in rural areas of China.
The Library Projects needs Chinese children’s books in good shape and if You want to donate you can either bring books to some of our events or send/bring to the Shanghai Family office (address below).
WHAT BOOKS ARE NEEDED FOR A LIBRARY?
The goal to donate the best quality children’s books to each school. Below is a list of the kinds of used books that The Library Project are looking for:
Language: All books will be in the Chinese language
Publisher: All books must be published in China
Age Group: Suitable for Elementary School children
Kind / Style: Full color, duo-tone, over sized and odd sized, high quality children’s books
Subject Matter: History, science, short stories, fairy tales, pinyin books for young readers, children’s dictionaries, children’s reference books, comic books, etc.
Book Source: Used or new books
Used Books: All books need to be in good condition, with no writing or marks, and no ripped pages.
I HAVE OTHER BOOKS TO DONATE. DO YOU ACCEPT [ENGLISH ADULT BOOKS] TOO?
The Library Project can accept other kind of books than Chinese children’s books if they are in sufficient condition to sell along. The money from these used-books sellings are used for buying new chinese books, library furniture and to cover other expenses.
HOW DO I MAKE A DONATION?
You can send or bring books to our office during office hours. Please send and e-mail to kidsclub@shfamily.com before you send so we are prepared to look after the package.
