Furman practices test-optional admissions, meaning that students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores.

Are merit or need based scholarships available for international students?

International students are eligible for all merit based scholarships that are offered to domestic students. In addition, the #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship will recognise two international students who have a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. This scholarship will cover up to a minimum of 50% tuition and is renewable annually with satisfactory academic progress.

What services are provided for helping international students transition into life on campus ?

From assistance with visas and transportation resources, to hosting activities and events throughout the academic year, we strive to ensure that all incoming students adjust to life in the United States and have a successful educational experience at Furman.

What services does your career centre offer that are specific to international students who want to securely relocate to their home country to work after graduation?

The Malone Centre for Career Engagement seeks to equip international students with the information and tools needed to make well-informed career decisions. Personalised career coaches work with students to ensure that they have access to resources and alumni networking to find career opportunities in the US or in their home countries.

What level of assistance does your career centre provide in helping international students find internships and post graduate employment?

Seventy percent of Furman students complete an internship during their time at Furman. The Internship Office provides a wealth of resources to international students to support finding an internship and offers a one-to-one approach to guide students through the internship search and application process.
