Your Next Museum Destination: Shanghai Museum of Glass

By Shanghai Family 2021-09-02 12:30:11

Museums have always held a fond place in my heart. I love discovering new things, seeing new displays and imagining a different world. Now with our borders closed, museums have become the new destination for us to visit these different worlds we cannot explore. Want to see dinosaurs? Let's go to the Museum of Natural History! Want to see the Hungry Caterpillar? Sure, let's go see the Playful World of Eric Carle!

For a museum trip that blends science and aesthetics, a visit to the Shanghai Museum of Glass would be a great way to expand your minds.

Not only do you get your dose of history with the evolution of glass (nerd alert: Did you know that glass was originally discovered in Mesopotamia?) but you also get to see professionals blow and create a glass bottle!

Tips for Going:

Add the museum's mini-program to buy tickets purchase their in-museum activities. They range from parent-child glass moulding to sleepovers for the tween! Even make your own glass! Their website is also completely in English so it allows you to plan your trip in advance.

Address: 685 Chang Jiang West Rd, Baoshan District

Opening Hours: 9:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays)
